Deposits: the questions that come up most

These are the questions that recur whenever money and a gambling account meet. Each answer is about the mechanics of the rail, not about any specific operator, because the numbers that matter are always the ones in your own cashier and on your own statement.

How long should a deposit take to appear?

It depends entirely on the rail. A card or wallet can credit within minutes; a bank transfer can take one to three working days and will not settle at a weekend or on a public holiday; a crypto deposit is credited once the operator's confirmation count is reached. The number that applies to you is the expected window shown in your own cashier for the method you used — measure from the moment you pressed pay, not from when you first looked.

Why was my deposit declined when I have the money?

Because a decline usually comes from the issuer, not from your balance. Many banks and card providers block gambling merchants by policy, and a first payment to a new merchant can trigger a security check. The operator cannot override that decision, so the fix is with your bank or card provider — confirm the merchant is permitted and ask whether a block is in place. See the failures page.

Who charges the fee on a deposit?

Often no one directly, and still a cost. The operator may charge nothing, but your bank or wallet may charge its own fee, a currency conversion may apply a hidden spread, and a credit-card deposit may be treated as a cash advance with interest from day one. "No deposit fee" describes the operator's charge only. The real total is the difference between what left your account and what arrived, visible on your settled statement.

Can a deposit be reversed or refunded?

Only on the rails that have an institution able to intervene. A card charge can in principle be disputed, a bank transfer recalled, and a hold released — all on bank timescales. A settled cryptocurrency transfer cannot be reversed at all. And none of that is a refund of staked money: once a balance has been played and lost, it is gone regardless of the rail. See the crypto page.

Why do I see two charges for one deposit?

Almost always a duplicate authorisation. If a first attempt seemed to do nothing and you pressed pay again, the second payment placed a second hold on the same funds. One of the two is usually a hold that will release, but a released hold can sit on a statement for several days. The habit that prevents this is depositing once and waiting out the rail's window before investigating.

Is a crypto deposit safer?

It is faster across borders and free of bank business hours, but it is less forgiving, not more. There is no chargeback, no issuer to call and no recovery for a payment sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network, or without a required memo. Treat every crypto deposit as final and verify the address, the network and the memo as one combined decision before sending.

Should I deposit again if the first one did not appear?

No. A deposit that has not appeared within its expected window should be diagnosed, not repeated — repeating it is how duplicate holds are created. Identify the state on the settlement page, then route the query to the party that owns it per the failures page. Depositing more never makes a slow deposit faster.

Gambling involves risk and can cause serious financial harm — including debt, damaged relationships and mental-health problems. Money sent to a gambling account is spent the moment you stake it, and a deposit can be lost entirely: depositing is irreversible in the sense that matters, because the balance it creates can go to zero. Free, confidential support exists in most countries through national gambling-harm helplines. Never fund play with money you cannot afford to lose, never borrow to gamble, and never deposit more to recover a loss.
